A+ score from DisplayMate
The new flagships set "10+ display performance records" and their color accuracy is "visually indistinguishable from perfect". This secured them DisplayMate's highest rating, A+, and earned them a DisplayMate Best Smartphone Display Award.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau chimed in to say that the OnePlus 8 Pro broke 13 display performance records. So why the "10+" phrasing? Well, DisplayMate is talking about the "OnePlus 8 series", which suggests that the vanilla OnePlus 8 is a couple of records short of what its Pro sibling achieved.
We already know that the Pro will have a 120Hz screen while the vanilla model is likely to stay at 90Hz, so they will use different panels.
The OnePlus 8 series will be unveiled on April 14.
